Political Electro-hip-hop Rock ... This track was recorded in October 2001 and received an enormous amount of radio airplay across Australia from late 2001 through to 2003, on brave community radio stations ... It was released as a CDR single with about 100 copies made and distributed for free in late 2001 ... It's part of the "Propaganda Machine Volume 2" album, when we get around to uploading the rest of that ...

Background notes ...

EYE were in New Jersey (USA) when the terrible events of September 11 2001 occurred nearby. This track was inspired by the understandable shock of everyone asking: "Why?!? We help those people! Let's just nuke the lot of them!!!" ...
EYE sought [naively] to inform people about the political background: how from the late-70s the USA military industrial complex undermined Afghanistan's left-wing government (to create a "vietnam war" quagmire for the Soviet Union) by financing and arming Islamic fundamentalist warlords and the likes of Osama bin Laden ...
This song was dedicated to peace, freedom, liberty, tolerance and all such values that are the best part of the USA and similar societies.

The spoken word aspect was very-much inspired by journalist John Pilger.

On one hand there was tremendous enthusiasm for this song amongst anti-war left wing circles. However there was also increasing hostility and threats - especially as things became "Us or Them" totalitarian in the USA social-political climate.

Even though people like Jello Biafra of the Alternative Tentacles record label [and yes The Dead Kennedys] sent a letter of interest about this track, among others, in 2004 EYE were "burnt out" from a multitude of factors including the hostile stress and threats being sent at us; which led to a retirement and suppression of this and some other tracks like 1997's "Logo Identity".
