about

Another part to the "Mandate!" piece this electro-funk-industrial piece also received large amounts of airplay on radio stations across Australia in the late 1990s and early 2000s.

It also features samples of many Australian politicians regarding the shock and concerns about the 1998 Federal election whereby the John Howard government remained in power with only 38% of the vote.

As covered in this piece that government then sought to push through unpopular laws like:
i) cuts to the education system;
ii) having toxic dumps for international nuclear & other hazardous waste in Australia;
iii) selling off the people's public assets (like the 'Telstra' communication network) into private ownership;
iv) the mining of uranium (for nuclear purposes) at Jabiluka in North Australia;
v) changing taxation with 'the GST' - Goods & Services Tax.
and so on.

lyrics

No Mandate!
No Education cuts!
No Toxic Dumps!
No full sale of Telstra!
Don't mine Jabiluka!
